Our Big Sur set is the product of many hours of research into what makes the very best examples of early Van Nuys era Stratocasters sound so good.

With finely tuned relative outputs between each coil - to highlight the best tonal qualities in each of the five switch positions. Our alnico V magnets are charged by hand to specific values, creating a subtle roundness in the highest frequencies for super sweet playability.

Characteristics

• Clear flute tones and bell-like chime in the neck

• Enhanced middle pickup with a fat midrange push, which perfectly compliments the neck and bridge in positions 2 & 4

• Highly usable bridge position, wound for a sweet & rounded top-end

• Perfect for “Gilmore Mod” wiring (neck + bridge together)
